Seven Deadly Sins is a franchise that has become quite popular and is often quoted as one of the most entertaining anime series of the 21st century. It’s quirky, it’s epic, it’s mildly pervy, and it has a great plot, which is what a lot of people would expect from an anime show. Seven Deadly Sins has a plethora of interesting characters on its roster and we have decided to present the strongest characters of them all in this list.

The list is going to include 20 characters, ranked from 20th to 1st place, based on their strengths, powers, and abilities. Aside from the ranking, you’re going to get some basic information on each of the characters.

20. Tarmiel

As one of the Four Archangels, Tarmiel is an extremely powerful goddess. He was sure he could eliminate the Ten Commandments in ten seconds. 19. Cusack

18. Chandler

As the former master of Meliodas and the most senior demon, Chandler is extremely powerful. Zeldris says that together with Cusack he is more than enough to fill the nine vacant spots in the legendary Ten Commandments.

Chandler’s tremendous power is revealed when he reaches the Seven Deadly Sins, his magical power shrouding the entire region in total darkness, with Diane believing that night has suddenly fallen upon her and Merlin declaring that he could bring “True Night” back to Escanor back to his night form.

Zeldris even says that Chandler can defeat or kill all Seven Deadly Sins except Meliodas on his own.

17. Elizabeth (Goddess)

As the daughter of the Supreme Deity, Elizabeth is an extremely powerful goddess who is very sure of her abilities and states that she herself will fight against five of the Ten Commandments if they intended to harm Meliodas. The simple release of their magical power could repel the Indura forms of Derieri and Monspeet, while Gloxinia, Drole, and Ludociel fought each other from a distance.

She proves her power against two members of the Ten Commandments on their Indura forms by rendering them unconscious for a time, with the help of Tarmiel and Sariel, something significant since three members of the Four Archangels were almost helpless towards them.

16. Estarossa / Mael

As one of the Four Archangels, Mael is an extremely powerful goddess, one of the strongest of his entire clan, and is only equaled by his brother and Elizabeth, and surpassed only by the Supreme Deity. Like all members of the goddess clan, he has wings that give him the ability to fly. Although weak from the start, Ludociel knew Mael had immense potential and would surpass it in the future.

15. Ludociel

As the leader of the Four Archangels, Ludociel is extremely powerful. His very presence is enough to frighten King (in Gloxinia’s body) and Diane (in Drole’s body). King states that he possesses an immense amount of magical power and that his power meets or exceeds the Ten Commandments. With superior intelligence, magical power and charisma, Ludociel reigns under the four archangels.

His younger brother and the stronger of the four archangels, Mael, declares that he has the same power as Meliodas. Like all members of the Goddess Clan, he has a pair of wings that give him the ability to fly. He has demonstrated his ability to summon his wings at will.

14. Derieri (Indura Form)

As a member of the Ten Commandments, Derieri is extraordinarily powerful. Like all members of the Demon Clan, she can use the mysterious black power of darkness, as Meliodas has seen before, to fashion wings for flight. 9. King (Full Grown Wings)

As a member of the Seven Deadly Sins and the current and most powerful Fairy King in history, King is extremely powerful. He is strong enough to singlehandedly overpower a great sacred knight. As a fairy, King displayed a number of skills unique to his species. such as the ability to hover or fly, the ability to change looks and clothes at will, and high speed similar to Meliodas and Ban.

However, his most amazing ability is his immortality. Thanks to drinking from the Fountain of Youth, all of Ban’s wounds heal almost instantly, no matter how severe.

Escanor has been described as the strongest member of the Seven Deadly Sins, as he easily defeated Galand and Melascula, two of the Ten Commandments, when the sun rose with little effort, while Ban and Jericho couldn’t do anything against the two powerful Commandments. Escanor’s power is viewed as monstrous by enemies and allies.

Estarossa, one of the most powerful members of the Ten Commandments, refused to believe that someone so powerful was human and was crippled with fear of Escanor’s power.

5. Gowther (Demon)

As a member of the Ten Commandments, Gowther is extraordinarily powerful. According to Meliodas, he was a very powerful magician who was so recognized even by the Demon King that he was forcibly given the Command of Selflessness to add his great power to the demon clan, and when Gowther refused to accept it, he was imprisoned for it took him over 500 years to save him from a threat.

Meliodas also noted that Gowther was much more powerful than Fraudrin, stating that compared to Gowther, Fraudrin was a worthless substitute.

As the creator and ruler of the Goddess Clan, the Supreme Deity is terrifyingly powerful as she is the most powerful Goddess in the world. The ten wings are proof of their immense strength, which further suggests that their power is far superior to that of any other goddess, as the second plus was six wings, which were briefly seen when Mael was in possession of Four Commandments.

According to Meliodas, she is the only being known to have the same power as the Demon King. As Meliodas said, only she, or the Demon King, or someone as powerful or superior to them, can lift the curses with which he and Elizabeth were cursed.
